Utility Department

The Utility Billing Department oversees and performs a variety of billing and related functions associated with the City of Carrizo Springs. They also review and issue utility billing statements, assess and verify meter reader records and reports, prepare bills, oversee mailing and distribution of billing statements. accept payments submitted in person and by mail, issues receipts, work with delinquent accounts, establish and monitor service agreements and payments, monitor compliance to agreements and drafts cutoff notices. In addition, the Utility Billing Department sets up new accounts, updates files and records, dispatches meter readers and appropriate utility workers to service calls and processes bank deposits.

The following fees will be charged effective July 11, 017:

Reconnection Fee: $30.00
2nd Copy of the Utility bill history: $5.00
Returned Check Fee: $35.00

Water Services (Residential Only)
Deposit Fee: $150

Must bring valid drivers license and social security card to open services.
* Renters agreement is required for renters.

Gas Services (Residential Only)
Deposit Fee: $150 for non-owner
Must bring valid drivers license and social security card to open services.
* Renters agreement is required for renters.

*Note: Any customer opening services for someone else (placing account under their names) will be held responsible for that account. Any unpaid balances will be placed on that account.

Senior citizens (65 years or older) will get a discount off their water service (WITHIN CITY LIMITS AND RESIDENTIAL ONLY). Senior citizens can apply  for discount immediate after their 65 birthday with the Utility Department at City Hall.
Senior citizens discount mus be renewed in person between October 1st through October 31st.

A deposit box is available to our customers and is located just outside of our building. Please make sure to write the account number on the check or money order. No cash please.

Customers with questions concerning their bills need to come inside the office. We will be glad to help you with your questions or concerns.

When making payments at the drive-up window, please make sure to have your utility bill with you. If you do not have your bill, you will need to come inside the office to make payment and to receive a receipt of payment.
