Water Service Worker
Essential Duties*
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provides and performs a variety of manual labor and related services in support of water and/or wastewater treatment operations.
- Utilizes basic to specialized tools and equipment (pick, shovel, spade, etc.).
- Drives trucks and other construction equipment.
- Provides routine and basic equipment maintenance as required/assigned.
- Performs minor repairs prior to and following use.
- Maintains and repairs sewer lines.
- Assists other city departments in the repair, maintenance, upkeep and renovation of the City of Carrizo Springs’ infrastructure.
- Lift and/or carry heavy, bulky items, materials and/or supplies weighing up to 80 pounds.
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dangerous machinery, hazardous chemicals, traffic hazards and potential physical harm.
- The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or GED and six months of relevant plumbing, water and/or wastewater- related work, construction, construction equipment operations, general labor, truck driving or closely related experience.
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
