Job Opening Announcement
The City of Carrizo Springs is presently accepting applications for a full- time Marshal Deputy.
JOB SUMMARY
This is a responsible non-supervisory position. Duties include patrolling an assigned area, generally by vehicle, to prevent crime and enforce laws and ordinances; and responding to emergency calls and routine complaints, taking appropriate action.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions, departmental policy, rules, regulations, and laws; knowledge of the use and care of vehicle, firearms, and specialized equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other law enforcement agencies, judicial officials, and the general public; ability to analyze situations an adopt a quick, effective, and reasonable course of action; and good physical condition, Should communicate effectively in both Spanish and English.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Basic certification by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education; and
- Valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
- May be required to work outside of the traditional work week schedule to include on-call and after-hour emergencies as needed
- Will be required to work weekends and holidays
