The City of Carrizo Springs is accepting applications for the position listed.

Position: Street Service Worker

TASKS

Operates trucks, lawn mowers and other basic motorized/electrical construction and/or landscaping related equipment. Maintains and repairs streets, drainage lines. Cleans drainage ditches and storm drainpipes, cuts grass, maintains grounds. Repairs fences, and related fixtures. Utilizes a pick, shovel, spade, or other hand tools. Sets safety cones and/or temporary signs around work sites/areas. Works with asphalt, concrete, piping, wood, and other materials. Assists other city departments in the repair, maintenance, upkeep, and renovation of the City of Carrizo Springs’ infrastructure. Sweeps litter, glass, and leaves from streets, walks, and other areas, loads refuse into a truck. Performs miscellaneous duties around warehouse, city buildings and other areas. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dangerous machinery, hazardous chemicals, traffic hazards and potential physical harm.

 Performs other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A High School Diploma or GED and six months of relevant construction, construction equipment operations, general labor, truck driving or closely related experience. Must be able to lift and/or carry heavy, bulky items, materials and/or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have a valid Drivers License.
