Recycling Service Worker

The City of Carrizo Springs is accepting applications for the position of Recycling Service Worker.

Essential Duties

Maintains recycling center operations; picks up recyclable materials according to a set schedule and as notified by citizens; sorts materials into various categories; and operates machinery designed to compact materials; advises contractor/vendor when storage area is filed; responds to questions and requests for information from citizens and others inquiring about the recycle center operations; maintains basic files and records regarding received recycle materials; performs clean-up, basic maintenance and service to recycle center equipment and facility. Knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of specialized equipment. Must be able to work safely in a variety of conditions and circumstances.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or GED AND six months of relevant construction, labor or closely related responsibilities. Must' be capable of lifting and/or carrying heavy, bulky items, materials and/or supplies weighing up to 80 pounds. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dangerous machinery, and potential physical harm. Must have a valid driver’s license.
