Gas Supervisor
Job Opening Announcement
The City of Carrizo Springs is accepting applications for the position of Gas Distribution System Supervisor.
Essential Duties
Oversees, manages, supervises and participates as necessary in a variety of gas distribution system functions, duties and operations; oversees and supervises gas distribution staff; performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to, training, assigning/review work, preparing performance appraisals and related work; identifies and presents short and long-range strategic plans; identifies staffing and equipment needs; reviews, monitors and approves equipment and materials expenditures; as required.
Compiles files and records related to overall gas system usage; reconciles usage against purchase; determines and investigates loss possibility; identifies and recommends repairs/ remedies; compiles, reviews and presents a variety of reports, records, statistics and related documentation; works with local, state and Federal officials regarding gas distribution system and related issues/concerns; responds to citizen questions and concerns.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or GED AND five years of relevant, progressively responsible construction, utility construction, utility maintenance, repair, or closely related experience that included at least one year of staff management and supervision preferred. Must be eligible to obtain within six months of employment and must maintain the following Texas Gas Association certifications:
- Plastic Pipe Welding
- Certification Leak Detection
- Certification Polyfusion/Electrofusion
