Position: Gas Service Worker

Full Time Position

Job Description:

TASKS

Responds to calls, meter readings and other alerts regarding potential gas leaks and/or gas distribution system concerns; determines if leak exists; diagnostic leaks source; recommends/identifies needed repairs; turns off gas, notifies appropriate authorities/supervisors; initiates and undertakes repairs; operates and utilizes back -hoe, hand tools and other equipment as needed; tests system; turns on gas; replaces gas lines and meters; installs new gas lines; installs gas meters for new service; tests lines for proper pressure and operation.

Provides basic instruction and assistance regarding safe operations; checks and fills oderizer  as required; compiles and fills out work sheets related to activities and materials used; assists other city departments  in  the  repair,  maintenance,  upkeep  and  renovation  of  the  City  of  Carrizo   Springs' infrastructure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or GED and two years of relevant, responsible gas line, pipeline, construction, construction equipment operations and general labor preferred. Must have a valid driver’s License.
