The City of Carrizo Springs presented the Carrizo Springs High School UIL Team with a plaque in recognition of their 2016 UlL. District 30-AAAA Academic Championship. Mayor Dina Ojeda-Balderas and the City Council members congratulated them and commended for their dedication and commitment.
Welcome to Carrizo Springs
The City of Carrizo Springs is the county seat of Dimmit County, Texas. The name Carrizo Springs, which is Spanish for a type of cane grass once common in the area, derives from similarly named springs in the area. Carrizo Springs was founded in 1865 by settlers from Atascosa County and is the oldest town in Dimmit County.
